Sylvia Zircher

Ms. Sylvia Zircher has been working with children and families for just over 20 years. She began her career as a social worker at Catholic Charities providing counseling and services for families in need. Shortly after she taught in Piscataway for nine years while raising her son and earning her Masters Degree In Educational Administration. Upon graduation, Ms. Zircher became the Assistant Principal at Ethel McKnight School in East Windsor and after one year was promoted to the Principal position. Ms. Zircher treasured her time as Principal of the McKnight School for the next six years before becoming the Director of Curriculum and Instruction and Acting Superintendent in Hamilton School District while pursuing her doctoral degree.

While chatting with a colleague she heard about the vacancy for Superintendent in South River Public Schools. Ms. Zircher has always lived in Middlesex County, but wasn’t familiar with the community. After asking around she realized she knew several people from South River, knew people who had family in South River, or who had grown up in South River. They all shared the same sentiments. South River is a tight knit community of hard working people who share pride in its history, traditions, and accomplishments. After a year and a half as Superintendent of Schools in South River, Ms. Zircher is proud to share these same sentiments, and has genuinely enjoyed and appreciated being welcomed into the community. She feels that thanks to a great student body, parents and volunteers, our board, staff, and administrative team, the district faces a great future ahead!

We would like to take this opportunity to introduce our organization which was formed in June of 2015 to support our beloved South River School District . Our mission is to ensure the highest level of educational innovation supporting students, faculty and staff with community involvement and a partnership of lifetime learning.

We are committed to funding special projects and equipment throughout South River public schools, either as district-wide grants or grants to teachers for use in their classrooms or as professional development opportunities. Often many of these educational programs are left unfunded through the traditional district budget.

We are a 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization and all donations are tax deductible. We are in need of donations, innovative ideas, corporate sponsors, and volunteers to organize fundraisers. Please explore the opportunity of corporate matching gifts as well.

Over the last year we raised enough funds to distribute both Mini-Grants to our teachers and scholarships to South River High School graduates. We are very proud with these accomplishments, however, our goal is to provide more which is where we need your help!

Please see the Donation Pledge options on the following pages to select which one(s) work the best for you. We hope you join us in our efforts to support the students of the South River School District. With your help we can do great things!
