2018 Harlem Wizards Fundraiser

The Harlem Wizards are returning to South River High School, Sunday, October 28th, at 1:00pm.

The afternoon promises to be a fun filled event that is great for kids and adults and will guarantee to put a smile on your face! This event is hosted by the South River Foundation for Educational Excellence.  They have brought The Wizards into town to help benefit their organization.

The Harlem Wizards have a unique mission: create awe-inspiring events throughout the country. At a Wizards game, fans will witness amazing basketball talent combined with hilarious comedy. Its two hours of family time where parents, grandparents, and kids can all laugh together. When you’re in the stands, you’re more than a spectator; you’re part of the show with loads of audience participation. Throughout the game, fans will experience a magical display of tricks, coordinated ball handling, fancy passing and aerodynamic athleticism combined with high-energy comedy and audience interaction. The experience can only be summed up in two words: Awe-Inspiring!

Tickets purchased before the event are $12 for adults $10 for children.  Tickets will also be available on the day of the game at South River High School Gym at 12noon for $20 for adults and $15 children and online at www.srfee.org or https://harlemwizards.thundertix.com

2018 Honoree – Cynthia Colalillo

Cynthia Colalillo

Cyndi Colalillo grew up in South River and graduated from South River High School in 1975. She attended Glassboro State College and graduated with honors in 1979. On September 1st of that same year, Cyndi began teaching in South River, where she also coached field hockey and cheerleading in the early 80s and 90s.

Cyndi’s other accomplishments include having chaired the committee for Special Olympics which took place every spring at Thompson Park in Jamesburg, and taking a seat on the Middlesex County Professional Development Committee for several years. She also served as an Achievement Coach for the district, worked closely with NJEA as the lead person for the NJEA Priority Schools Initiative, and was named Teacher of the Year in 2006. From 2006-2017, Cyndi served as the South River Education Association President/Co-President.

Since 2002, Cyndi was the District Coach for the Fast ForWord program (Scientific Learning Company). In November of 2016 Cyndi’s school became a National Reference Site, which entails being nationally recognized as a school to visit to see how well the program is utilized. Her biggest accomplishment as an educator was being a devoted teacher to her hundreds of students, with whom she has attended many important milestones in their lives – marriages, babies, etc. That is what she is most proud of!

Cyndi is excited to start the next Chapter in her life, spending more time with husband Pete, daughters, Genevieve and Amy, Thomas Devlin and Vincent, and her sweet grandson Dominic Vincenzo Quaglieri. Her heart will always hold a special place for South River!

We would like to take this opportunity to introduce our organization which was formed in June of 2015 to support our beloved South River School District . Our mission is to ensure the highest level of educational innovation supporting students, faculty and staff with community involvement and a partnership of lifetime learning.

We are committed to funding special projects and equipment throughout South River public schools, either as district-wide grants or grants to teachers for use in their classrooms or as professional development opportunities. Often many of these educational programs are left unfunded through the traditional district budget.

We are a 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization and all donations are tax deductible. We are in need of donations, innovative ideas, corporate sponsors, and volunteers to organize fundraisers. Please explore the opportunity of corporate matching gifts as well.

Over the last year we raised enough funds to distribute both Mini-Grants to our teachers and scholarships to South River High School graduates. We are very proud with these accomplishments, however, our goal is to provide more which is where we need your help!

Please see the Donation Pledge options on the following pages to select which one(s) work the best for you. We hope you join us in our efforts to support the students of the South River School District. With your help we can do great things!

Please visit our website and consider the following Donation Pledge options:

  • Mail cash or check (Payable to SRFEE) to 15 Montgomery St. South River, NJ 08882
  • Make a one-time or recurring secure online SRFEE Annual Appeal donation on our website: www.srfee.org
  • Become a recognized SRFEE Benefactor (see link for details)
